The only app I’ve found for Japanese!

This is a home-screen app for me. When I spot a character in Japanese that I can’t recognize this handy app will read it most of the time, depending on how small the font is or sometimes how rare the character is. It can even parse out character combinations quite often.

These kinds of text-scanner/translators don’t always work perfectly in the field but I am quite satisfied with Worldictionary.
